One of our clubs longest running projects lead by Ken Hayes (also a RT board member). Breakfast snacks and lunch by Encore Performance Catering, Dave Hyman club member extraordinaire.
Donna went to Rafah to the Women’s Project Center to distribute Luci Lights to some 50 children. Glorious to see them so happy. Luci Solar Lights in Gaza Peace Project Apr 27, 2016 We delivered solar-powered Luci Lights to children in Gaza last week!The 1st pallet of lanterns arrived at the Port of Ashdod! In Gaza, families celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan by giving their children gifts especially in Gaza, parents give each child a lantern called a ‘Fanooz’. It means ‘light of the world’. We have Brightened the Future of Gaza's Children by sending them a solar-powered Fanooz, a light from the world!
2016 Cuba H20pen Doors Water Purification Apr 12, 2016 Combined with RC Peninsula Sunrise - Water Purification Club members Sue Alvarez, Becky Rudd and Michelle Nirenstein with Community friend, Erika Crowley flew to Cuba to prepare for installation of the water purification system.
2016 Ongoing Moroccan Library Project Jan 1, 2016 While on a trip to Morocco, Barb saw a crushing need for English Book Libraries where there are very few. Club member Barb Mackraz answered the need and has already put in place 3 libraries and lending libraries.

Taste of Woodside 2009 Sep 20, 2009 Annual fundraiser bringing together local restaurants and vintners to raise funds for Rotary service projects locally and abroad.
The women were intensely curious about everything and asked if they could have meetings in the library.  The answer was Guatemalan Library 2009 Mar 26, 2009 This community library managed by The Riecken Foundation (www.riecken.org) is located in the 100% indigenous village of Xolsacmalja, Totonicapan in northwestern Guatemala.

Young members of Rotary's high school group, Interact, came from Belmont to assist in the setup. Taste of Woodside 2007 Sep 16, 2007 A fine time was had by all and the club realized record profits all of which will go to community and international service projects.
George's reward at the Woodside Fire Station was to spend time in the driver's seat. George's Christmas Dec 9, 2006 George had expressed "sadness" about the plight of homeless children this Christmas. When offered the chance to shop for homeless kids he got very excited and with donated cash he was able to spend over $300 buying gifts.
Participating wineries included KIngs Mountain, Thomas Fogarty, Ridge Vineyards, Woodside Vineyards, Cinnabar Winery, Bonnie Doon Vineyard, Storrs Winery and Martella Wines. Taste of Woodside 2006 Sep 30, 2006 The club's third annual fundraiser pairing local wineries and restaurants to raise funds for community and international service projects.
George, who is passionate about classical music and the piano, was recently found entertaining people in the lobby of a Marriott hotel.  He made $23 in tips. The Eastside Kids Jul 5, 2006 Since 2003 the club has offered support to three low income, at-risk Hispanic children from East Menlo Park. School scholarships, summer camp, dental care, piano lessons for George and homework assistance for all three are just some of the help these kids are receiving from Rotary.
The slide started at the top of the volcano and brought with it full-sized trees and huge boulders.  In some places it was estimated to be 15 feet deep. Guatemalan Hurricane Relief Dec 1, 2005 Hundreds of Mayans have disappeared in mudslides that wiped out their villages. While immediate needs have been met famine is a very real concern as many of the survivors were subsistence farmers. Major efforts are being made to get the children back into school.

Both the setting and the weather were perfect.  Participating wineries included Thomas Fogarty, Cinnabar, Bonny Doon, Ridge, Storrs, Woodside Vineyard, Kings Mountain Winery and Martella Wines. A portion of the profits will go to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Justin, a fourth grader at Garfield Charter School in Redwood City, was delighted with his dictionary, a gift from the club. Club Service Projects All funds raised by the club are used to fund service projects both locally and abroad.
