Album Name: Luci Solar Lights in Gaza Peace Project Return to Albums
Album Date: Apr 27, 2016
Description: We delivered solar-powered Luci Lights to children in Gaza last week! The 1st pallet of lanterns arrived at the Port of Ashdod! In Gaza, families celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan by giving their children gifts especially in Gaza, parents give each child a lantern called a ‘Fanooz’. It means ‘light of the world’. We have Brightened the Future of Gaza's Children by sending them a solar-powered Fanooz, a light from the world!

Donna worked with NGO's-Gaza Community Mental Health Programme,Women's Project Center of Rafah,& Al Basma Club for the Disabled to give our first pallet of 1,920 solar-powered Luci Lights to children & families. The need is overwhelming.Currently there are only 4 hours of electricity each day. Donna's last night in Gaza was spent at the Al Basma Club for the Disabled where they inflated 25 Luci Lights for a party with children in wheel chairs, deaf or without limbs, full of enthusiasm. When the electricity went out the room was filled with solar lights in the hands of a hundred children. Donna went to Rafah to the Women’s Project Center to distribute Luci Lights to some 50 children. Glorious to see them so happy.
