This Week's Program:  Ken Hayes Returns to Italia

Our own, never has been president, Ken Hayes, will talk about his recent family trip to Italy where, once upon a time, Ken was a student.

Last  Week's Program:  (courtesy of Last Week Editor, Dean Babcock)

Past President Joan Fuetsch introduced Edward Weiss, M.D. to talk to us about his work as an Acupuncturist.  Dr. Weiss received his undergraduate degree at Yale and his M.D at Stanford in the early ‘70s.  He went to London with a lady friend and became interested in acupuncture and Chinese medicine.  At the time, acupuncture was considered “so ridiculous in England” that it was totally unregulated.  While in London he often gave talks on acupuncture and during one talk he had 15 members of the audience on the stage with him with multiple needles in joints and other aching places.

Dr. Weiss returned to Palo Alto and set up his practice near S.U.M.C. on Welch Road.  He has treated 100 year old patients and he has treated babies.  When he was asked if it works on everything, he replied that it works on everything, some of the time.  Many patients become depressed waiting for progress with usual medical treatment and acupuncture helps them “Get back on the curve,” Dr. Weiss said.

Next Week's Program:  Improve Your Photo Taking Skills

Woodside photographer Paul Tedrick, was featured in the July edition of The Almanac, will give us some tips on taking better photos.  Barbara, DO NOT bring your disposable camera.

Club NewsLast year's club president, Sandie Pugh, was officially "de-bunked" last Sunday at a social gathering at the home of Art Barker.  It is all up to you now Dave!
