This Week's Program: Acupuncture
Past President, Joan Fuetsch, will introduce Edward Weiss, MD who has been practicing acupuncture in the shadow of Stanford Hospital for over thirty years. He will talk about his shift from traditional medicine after graduating from Stanford Medical School and will also demonstrate on any one of you who is willing.
Last Week's Program: (courtesy of Last Week Editor, Dean Babcock) District Governor Riki Intner was introduced by Asst. D.G. Bill Chow. Riki and her husand Bob were members of the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa until 1992 when they became members of the R.C. of Fishermen’s Wharf. Both Riki and Bob are past presidents of their club. Rickie said she thinks of herself and the Asst. D.G.s as pilots, leading a crew that is navigating District 5150 from challenge to challenge for the next 12 months.
Riki went over a summary of our clubs involvement in important Rotary International community and international areas and expressed her admiration and appreciation for our diligent work. She hopes to see a submittal from our club for a District Achievement Award soon.
Riki referred to R.I. President John Kenny’s theme “The future of Rotarry is in your hands.” He feels that Rotary is more important today than it has ever been. While we can be very proud of our accomplishments in eliminating Polio, teaching third world people how to provide potable water for their villages, organizing local programs throughout the world to improve education and setting up schools to teach farmers to grow a diversity of crops and preserve the soil, there is still work to be done and challenges to be met.
