Pres. Elect David Hyman introduced Yali Liu to speak to us about borrowing, lending and investing in the current troubled economy. Yali was born in Shandong Province, near Beijing. She has native proficiency in Chinese and verbal ability in Swahili. She has degrees from Qufu Normal and Beijing Universities. She did two years volunteer service in Tanzania and Kenya for the World Health Organization.
Yali started her financial career with Merrill Lynch in Beverly Hills. Then she spent 10 years with Citigroup before joining Wells Fargo in 2004 at the Palo Alto office. She is currently a Senior Financial Consultant and holds state securities and insurance licenses.
Yali reviewed the last two decades of banking and market history in California and the more recent government and industry measures taken to get the lending and investment areas going on a more rational basis. Club members asked several pertinent questions which Yali answered in good detail. She may be reached at yali.liu@wellsfargo.com.
