Last Week's Program: (courtesy of Last Week Editor, Dean Babcock)
President-elect David Hyman introduced Sharon Niederhaus to speak about Multi-generational Living. Sharon lives in Portola Valley Ranch and is a seventh generation Californian. She attended San Mateo High School and graduated from Mills College. Sharon was founder and director of the Adopt-a-School program. She is also a former member of the Menlo Park Rotary Club.
Sharon has a web site www.togetheragain.com to publicize her concept of the extended family of today. She wrote her thesis at Stanford on the “Accessory Apartment-Proximity with Privacy.’ Her book is a handbook for establishing and maintaining a multi-generational family compound. It includes outlines for remodeling plans, cohabitation agreements, legal considerations, financial arrangements and a bibliography.
Club members asked numerous questions and engaged Sharon in discussion on several related subjects.
Next Week's Program: Club Assembly Please bring non-perishable food for the St. Francis Center in Redwood City. Sister Cristina indicates that cake and brownie mixes would be appreciated.
