This Week's Program: Rotary and Micro Credit in Guatemala
Past-President Joan Fuetsch will introduce Patrick Hall of the Rotary Club of Pacifica. Patrick is the lead on a matching grant to provide micro-credit loans for women in Guatemala. The MG is already at $25K but can handle additional donations from clubs in our district. Hint! Hint!
Last Week's Program: (courtesy of Last Week Editor) President Sandie Pugh introduced Dave Hyman’s friend, Chris Hart, to speak about "Railroad Preservation and Rehabilitation." Chris was born in Lawrence, MA and obtained a degree in Journalism at the University of New Hampshire. Chris works as an account manager for McCune Audio, Video and Lighting, all of the infrastructure that makes advertising go. Cris is also a member of the Brisbane Lions Club. McCune is located right next to the most expensive roadbed in the West, in South San Francisco. And for an "Old Railroad" buff, it doesn’t get much better than that! Cris is a member, board member or founder of local, California, national and international railroad preservation organizations. And moreover, he is a hands on guy – Project Manager for State Belt #4 steam engine, service crew for Southern Pacific #2472 steam locomotive and an authority on steam engine maintenance and operation. He assisted the Swansage (England) Railroad Trust in getting Winston Churchill’s funeral car and "Devon Belle" Flying Scotsman observation car back to Great Britain. His enthusiasm for antique railroading is impressive!
