This Week's Program:  Life and Rotary in Bali 
Community Service Chair, Sandie Pugh, will introduce Sue Bennett, a realtor in her office, Merrill Properties in Menlo Park.  Sue was recently featured in The Country Almanac telling her story of building a house in Bali and renewing her marriages vows there as well.  Sue has joined a Rotary Club in Bali and will talk to us about a school project in Bali Ubud.  Anyone want to go visit that project?

Last  Week's Program:   District Governor, Mark Flegel visited our club last week and heard a very interesting presentation from Bob Graham, founder of Namaste-Direct, an NGO based in San Francisco that funds micro-credit projects for impoverished women in Central America.  Bob and one of his student fellows is visiting the Rotary Club of La Antigua, Guatemala for their monthly dinner social later this month.  Micro-credit is one of the most effective solutions to poverty that exist.  In Guatemala women who, thanks to Rotary projects, no longer need to spend their days carrying water and firewood now have time to become entrepreunerial.  Typical businesses include cell phones, sewing, weaving, laundries, corn mills, child care, etc.

Bill Alfano will introduce Dr. Timothy Leary (not that Timothy Leary) who will talk about his trek to the top of the Tetons. 
 
Club News:   The March board meeting has been re-scheduled to Tuesday, March 13th at 7:30 am in the library of the church.  Please let Donna know if you cannot make it.

Announcements:   According to the District Newsletter our club is way below its goal of $2000 for the 2006-2007 Rotary year contribution to the RI foundation.  We are at $300 so a few of you have not yet participated in the "Every Rotarian Every Year" minimal $100 contribution.  It can be done online at www.rotary.org or you may give a check payable to: Rotary International Foundation to Larry Wenrick.  If you would like to be a Paul Harris Fellow make your check our for $1,000.  All tax-deductible of course.
