Last Week's Program;

Our ADG, Bill Chow, introduced our new DG, William A. Koefoed. Bill Koefoed  He has lived his entire life in the Bay area. Bill owned the Dale Carnegie Course franchise for San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties.  The Dale Carnegie Course is a program for businesses using a proprietary process involving team dynamics and intra-group activities Other subjects included are communication, creative problem-solving and focused leadership. Bill is a member of the Rotary Club of San Francisco # 2 and was president in 1994-95. He has been engaged in the planning or chaired many District 5150 activities including PETS and the Governor-Elect Training Seminars.  Bill and his wife, Betsy, have been married 47 years and have two children and four grandchildren.

This Week's Program:

The subject will be the TASTE OF WOODSIDE, our annual fundraiser, which will be held at the Woodside Village Church on Sept. 19th.  The weather is forecast to be lovely, the venue is cozy and all your friends will be there. Y'all come, ya hear!

Next Week's Program:

The subject will again be the TOW, only this time it will be a reprise. We will have many new "Lessons Learned" tales to hear, many anecdotes to tell and a pile of cash to count!

Club News: 

Taste of Woodside: Carin and Rotaract Mid-Peninsula will be here again. Sue and Don Bennett will be doing auction again.

Day of the Horse: Will be in October, we are in charge of food again.

Kickout Party for Dave: Will be in September or October. Barbara and Bill are gathering ideas.

Next Board Meeting:  Tuesday, Sept. 14,, 7:30am, Church Library, advise Barbara if you can't make it, please.

Rotary Means Business:  Wednesday, Sept. 15th,  5:30pm Encore Performance Catering. If you are a young business person, you might make some interesting contacts here. 

Rotary International Convention:  May 21-25, 2011, New Orleans -  An evening stroll down Bourbon Street in late September is a pleasure to remember. Walk slowly and take in that Jazz!

Taste of Woodside: Sunday, September 19th, 4-8pm Check with Ken Hayes on tickets.

 

Announcements:   

Join the Golden Gate Bridge Walk on October 24th to help accelerate the end of Polio. Rotarians from District 5150 and all our neighboring districts walk across the bridge and then proceed to the Ferry Building for goodies and to watch as Rotary President Ray Klinginsmith throws the switch that will light up the tower with our banner displaying "Beat Polio Now!"
